Smoothstone and Iron Blocks also don't get destroyed

Cobble is not the only one immune to fireballs. Else my base would be in ruins from all the ghasts trying to kill me -Icalasari 06:20, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

L-shape

Seems the text about the L-shape on cobblestone pointing to North gets deleted pretty often, why couldn't the article mention this? It's very distinctive and easy to remember. Hiski 18:44, 19 December 2010 (CST)

That's because most if not all blocks have an identifier, and there is a page for all this stuff, Navigation. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 02:28, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
I think it should be here; the navagation page does not actually explain how to do it. It just points to a video. A lot faster to have one line that says 'The default skin has an L at the northwest corner' than to have to load a video, which may be removed at some point. Not to mention, without knowing about the navigation page, I wouldn't know to look for it there. And neither the page nor the video mention using redstone dust. --StarChaser Tyger 16:59, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
Then put them on there! –ultradude25 (T|C) at 17:52, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
As Hiski mentioned, it keeps getting removed for some reason. A load of the last 20 or so edits were it being put in and taken out again. Better to see if there's a reason more compelling than 'I don't like it'. --StarChaser Tyger 05:23, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
The navigation page doesn't even have 20 edits... let alone them being all taken out again. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 06:02, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
The L-shape is merely a coincidence, although it became rather significant. I do not, however support having this information on this page since every single block type should have some way of doing the same thing, although it might not be too obvious. Besides, this L-shape formation is also present in Moss Stone and Netherrack. As ultradude25 said, this information is already in the Navigation page. –The preceding unsigned comment was added by Scykei (Talk|Contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
I was talking about this page's 20 edits. This information is not already on the navigation page, as I said above. It points to a minute long video that takes 30 seconds to get to the point, on a website that is notorious for losing videos. What is the unreasoning hatred of one simple line of text? Putting it on the navigation page is only useful if you already know to look for it there. It makes more sense to have it here, and on the other blocks that use the same skin. --StarChaser Tyger 13:26, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Possible solution: if navigating via Cobblestone is truly common enough to list it, simply mention this and link to the Navigation page, where the details of navigating via Cobblestone should then be described properly. Zbeeblebrox 06:52, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Natural Cobblestone?

Cobblestone is naturally occurring, so should it be placed in the Natural section of the Blocks box at the bottom? Bigreader 04:06, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Should it be natural? It's 'manufactured' with the pickaxe. Is there naturally occuring Cobblestone? jackftwcod5 00:00 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Cobblestone occurs in an unmodified map in:

  • the walls of dungeons. The blocks which occur in dungeons are Cobblestone, Monster Spawner, Chest, and Moss Stone; perhaps either all or none of these blocks should be listed. Dungeons should perhaps be a “natural artificial” exception, since chests, for example, do appear in world generation but they're not part of the "normal" world elements.
  • where water runs into lava (most often seen at the lava-everywhere depth). This is a consequence of physics rather than the exact initial world generation.

Cobblestone and Ghast fireball

The page states under trivia that cobble is indestructible by a ghast fireball. I have seen a ghast blow up cobblestone. I feel that this is an error and should be removed.

I've seen that too. Cobblestone is resistant to ghasts, but not immune. It is possible for more than 1 fireball to hit the cobblestone at once, destroying it. I will re-word that line. Btw, sign your posts with ~~~~. --Zkyo 16:50, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

New texture

The upcoming 1.7 update will contain a new cobblestone texture, highlighted in Jens' recent demonstration video. At what point would it make sense to put that in the article? Zbeeblebrox 06:54, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Beta 1.7: Cobblestone too bright?

Cobblestone will be very bright in the new update! But does that look like minecraft? Looks more like silver ore in Terraria! A brighter Cobblestone-Texture would be great! But really THAT bright?
