Minecraft Pocket Edition[1] is the mobile version of Minecraft intended for Android and iOS devices, initially launching exclusively for the Android Market[2] for $6.92 on August 16, 2011, along with a free demo version.
Objective and Gameplay
The objective of the game remains the same as its original PC and Xbox counterparts, where players can build virtual realities in a sandbox-like environment.
The gameplay of the pocket edition is akin to that of the Creative gamemode, with minor differences such as having several of the blocks from the Beta version of the game. A video of an early prototype was released on Twitter[3], showing the game on the Xperia PLAY. The alpha version has recently been released, but is currently only available to Xperia PLAY and will be released on other devices soon.
