Daniel Rosenfeld, also known as C418, is an independent composer who was born and lives in East Germany. He composed the set of 24 tracks that make up Minecraft's ambient noise, and created the game's sound effects. He started creating music using Ableton Live. He met Notch on an IRC channel and he was selected to make music for Notch's game prototypes.
