Template:MobCows are passive mobs that first appeared in indev. Their main value is as a source of leather which can be used to make the lowest tier armor. They are 1.6875 blocks tall, 0.625 blocks wide and 1.5 blocks long.
Behavior
Cows spawn in groups of four to twelve individuals and proceed to roam aimlessly. Cows will jump up small inclines, and frequently cows may be seen bouncing up hillsides. This may lead to their doom, as cows don't pay attention to long falls and often plummet to their deaths. Like other passive mobs, they are attracted to lights, and can sometimes be seen jumping up and down on a torch or other light source. This too has led to the death of many a cow, as they will often wander through open flame and catch on fire. They will make no attempt to stay out of water, and may often be seen splashing about in oceans and lakes.
Appearance
- There has been some confusion about the cow's gender due to it having both horns and an udder. Female cattle often have horns, meaning that the debate over a pixelated bovine's gender is unnecessary.
