Speculation on future use
I removed the speculatory bits of the article but they were readded, so I'm curious - is being able to write in books something Notch has mentioned or just pure user speculation? If it's the former does anyone have a source? Otherwise should it be removed? Izzalion 02:42, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
There is actually a mod for 1.3_01 that allows you to write in books. I suggest you add it in the article. I would myself but I have no idea how to edit these things. I don't even know if I'm doing this right. Chris The Mushroom 7:18, 21 February 2011 (PST)
Found what was mentioned, at Notch's blog (http://notch.tumblr.com/post/4988431144/the-maps) It currently says:
"At the moment the map doesn’t work at all in multiplayer, but that’s my next task. The code I write to support that will also be possible to reuse in the future for things like books and notes written by players, and possibly even custom paintings/hand drawn signs."
