Clear and simple: In this project, we want to translate the Minecraft Wiki to Portuguese language, so, people from Brazil (Brasil...), and other portuguese-speaking countries can get information about this so awesome game.

How do I...
- Allocate the translated pages?
- The translations will be placed in the same path of the English page, with the /ptbr termination.
- For instance, the Lava page will be stored as Lava/ptbr. Easy as that.
- In case of pages with different names in English and Portuguese, the translated ones can be with their names in Portuguese. I.e.:
- Water will be Agua
- Translate?
- After creating the new page, say Blocks/ptbr, you'll need to start editing it.
- Open the page, hit the Edit button on the top of the page, and you are ready to go!
- A good start point is to also open the English page you're translating, edit that, copy the code and paste it on the new page.
- Then, start your dictionary work!
- Point links on the page?
- If the page that you're working on has links to other pages, and almost every page does, have in mind that the page pointed by that link will be translated soon, and so, the link with the tail /ptbr will work fine. Thus, just translate the *name* of the link, and point it to the path with the /ptbr.
- Speaking as a human: the [[Lava]] link will be translated as [[Lava/ptbr|Lava]]
- Tell the world that one page is translated?
- Ok, thanks to your effort, a new page has been translated to pt-br.
- Now, get back here and write down the page name that you have just finished on the list below, as a link, already with the /ptbr at the end.
- And what about images that contain text?
- If you can translate the text in the image WITH NO DAMAGE to the image at all, make a copy of it and do your job.
- If you are capable to create a new image from scratch, with the SAME CONTENT in the original, but with texts in Portuguese, do it.
- Otherwise, don't touch the image. Just let it stay in English. You can always make a caption in Portuguese.
- Translate Characters names?
- You don't. Creepers, Zombies, Ghasts and others were born with these names, and so they must be called.
- And Blocks, and other stuff?
- Like that: Water = Água, Dirt = Terra, and so on. For other doubts, feel free to contact TheArvie =)
- About Templates...
- NO! DO NOT translate any templates! Leave them in English, for technical reasons.
- *NÃO traduza templates! Deixe os templates em paz, em inglês mesmo, por motivos técnicos.
A little more help
- If you are translating something, but you can't end your job now, that's ok. Just save the page as normal, and put a reference to it here.
- If you don't understand fully how links and such things work on a wiki-like page, that's no problem! I can do this for you, but it will take some time. Usually, I work on this questions on weekends, so, if you need any help, feel free to ask me anything (Please, use the internal communication system of Minecraft Wiki). But please, also have in mind that I'll only answer you after one weekend.
- If the problem is just the links, put a link to the page in ptbr (with the /ptbr tail...) here.
- If you think your work is not as good as it could get, link your page here. If your work is OK, you don't need this. Just link it below, as a translated page!!.
Para criar novas páginas
Alguns de nós estão com dúvidas sobre porque não podem criar novas páginas, que não aparece a opção 'Create', etc.
O que acontece é o seguinte: Para um usuário poder criar novas páginas, ele precisa possuir alguns critérios:
- O login deve ter mais de 3 dias de idade
- O usuário deve ter editado pelo menos 10 vezes na wiki (acho que pode ser na mesma página, não sei).
Depois que você cria seu usuário aqui, e está logado, aparece no topo direito o link para suas preferências: (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Special:Preferences). Clique lá, e veja na primeira parte, Basic Information, o item Member of Groups.
Se só estver escrito "Users", quer dizer que você ainda não completou um dos requisitos acima, e só pode editar as páginas, mas não criar novas.

Pra poder criar páginas, inclusive aquelas com as nossas traduções, vc tem que fazer parte do grupo Autoconfirmed Users:

Pra isso, confirme seu email (se ainda não confirmou quando se registrou. Se já foi, ok.), e/ou aguarde 3 dias a partir do seu registro, pra poder criar páginas novas.

Informações básicas
Quando for traduzir um link, ele estará em dois colchetes. [[ e ]]. Por exemplo, para traduzir a página LAVA, eu precisarei de colocar [[ Lava/ptbr|Lava ]]. Eu, rockyandirou, revisarei as páginas para corrigir os erros/links. No começo da página, se tiver uma linha ocupada, aperte enter e coloque {{project|PTBR Translation}} (com duas chaves tipo {x2 e }x2)
