[view] • Saddles are items that can be placed on pigs, which allows the player to ride them by right-clicking the saddle. As of 1.4.2 the pig can be controlled by a Carrot on a Stick. Saddles cannot be placed on any other mobs. The player can climb off and on the pig as they please, but the saddle cannot be recovered from the pig and will be lost if the pig de-spawns from the map or is killed, but this was before, because in 1.4.2 and later, pigs will return the saddle. They were added in Infdev on the 25th of June, 2010. They can either be found in dungeon chests or be bought in a trade with villagers. They can not be crafted.

One can obtain the achievement, "When Pigs Fly," when the player and the saddled pig receive fall damage after falling off a great height. A Easy way to complete this achievement is by going in creative then fishing the pig up in the air. Once the pig is up in the air, ride the pig and fall to land. But now you can do it with the carrot because of the new update!
