Is it known what wolfes drop when killed (if they are able to die)?

Unknown at this time. Keep checking Jeb's twitter for answers, or wait until Beta 1.4 releases. --Dark Auk

Update (please reply)

I have MineCraft Beta 1.3_01 in which i got only a few weeks ago I havent updated yet. In the Beta 1.4 update, will it update when i log in the next time I connect to the internet? If so, will the writing at the top left on the menu say 'Minecraft Beta 1.4'? If you know or have updated a MineCraft game, please respond.

Also, I bet a bed or kennel will be made for wolves. Because if you go to sleep on a bed what will happen to the wolf? R0cketor talk Sandbox 01:54, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Minecraft Beta 1.4 has not released yet, and no release date is set as of today (March 19, 2011). But as long as you are connected to the Internet, it should update automatically. --Dark Auk
Thank you. Rocĸetor talk 06:16, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
EDIT: There's no 'wolf' file in here. Will I get the texture pack with it, or will the update include it automatically? Or worse come to worst, will it cost money? Rocĸetor talk 08:18, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Everything will be updated, including the texture files, sounds (if needed) and everything else. You won't have to pay a thing!--Quatroking - MCWiki Administrator 08:32, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Yay! Thank you. Rocĸetor talk 09:39, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Neutral when Tamed?

When you tamed a wolf, then you attack it (with hands as exaple), does it gets untamed and attacks you, does it attack you and stay tamed, or does it gets untamed and do nothing, or it gets passive? Calinou 22:33, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

We dunno yet.--File:User Oneshot O.JPGneshot. 19:44, 21 March 2011.
Chances are that your tamed wolf will be loyal to you till death. This is just a guess, though. Rocĸetor talk 22:21, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
If you accidentally hit it while it is tamed then nothing happens.[1] Ffrogman 00:00, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Jeb should have shown it in the video... Useful information. Calinou 22:33, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Lol it would be funny if wild wolves blew up like Creepers Rocĸetor talk 05:45, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

It would be funny to have flying wolves for fighting Ghasts too :D Stop offtopic. Calinou 22:12, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Maybe you can't attack it. JesusChrist666 22:34, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

You've got a point, because it is in fact friendly --BURRITO333 00:21, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Actually, your offtopic idea about flying wolves to fight Ghasts is also a problem. If you melee a Ghast and then your wolf is trying to attack it, and the Ghast floats over an edge.... Rocĸetor talk 05:08, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Spawning

They'll probably not, but will wild wolves spawn in Peaceful? And in SMP, when you log off, what will happen to the Wolf? Will it also disappear? Or, will it be wolves at SMP at all? Tawg 08:56, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

They're not released yet, how do you expect us to know? –ultradude25 (T|C) at 09:21, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Wolves probably won't spawn on peaceful, because they're neutral (like zombie pigmen). And if there's wolves in SMP they'll probably disappear when you log out and reappear when you log on again. I'm just guessing, though. JesusChrist666 12:17, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

They will work in peaceful, not sure if they will actually spawn in peaceful. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 13:13, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
This is a guess, but I bet wolves will spawn, however they will not attack you even in provoked, making them passive. Rocĸetor talk 05:10, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

As of Beta 1.4 wolves spawn on Peaceful difficulty and attack if provoked. Calinou 20:30, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Wolves are dogs?

When wolves are tamed are they going to be called Wolves still or dogs?

They've always been called wolves on Notch's blog and the Mojang twitter accounts, so I'm going to assume that dogs are scrapped and replaced with tameable wolves. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 23:15, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
It was only called dogs by fans. Rocĸetor talk 05:48, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Aggressive wolves

I'm pretty sure there will also be aggressive wolves be showing up, at least, that seems what Jeb meant when he said wolves are mostly neutral. And Notch seems to think the same. So... Vertex 18:19, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Doors

Wolves don't seem to go through open doors. I had a double wooden door open for them to walk into, and they ignored it and tried to walk around. Removing the door seemed to fix the problem, but having a zombie walk into their room isn't exactly the most pleasant of thoughts. Wandering Traveler 17:58, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

I recommend to make a "dog-hut" if Notch doesn't ad one. Just make a small House with no door, let them sit in it, and close it up with dirt. Khezu

Wolf health when tammed

I have discovered whit an map editor that wolfs have 10 heart when tammed

-WITH A MAP EDITOR?! Oh please. --Sade1212 20:05, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Wolves health bar

Can you check his health by looking at its tail?

I check Minecraft - Wolves and Cookies! (1.4 Beta Update!) From the Yogscast

Notice the wolves tail, does it go down the more he gets hurt?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ozdADY1NzvM#t=346s At 5:46

You can see its tail is down after he got attacked.

Yes, the Wolves' tail is the indicator for their health IPeer 20:19, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

spiders attack wolves?

I realised that despite what the wiki says about mobs not attacking wolves, I lost a wolf when i got my little pets to attack a spider. Just an observation... Lethman 20:26, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

they do attack passive mobs, so maybe it attacked a spider, and the spider's ai of attacking when it is attacked caused it to fight back? Raiu tree 20:31, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
